I have experienced amazing results with Kirsten. I have stopped trying to dance for the approval of my teachers and started dancing for myself and my enjoyment. I have started being open with teachers about what I want for my future so they can help me get there, instead of being scared of saying the wrong thing or being judged. I have also learned so many ways to calm my nerves before a performance and how to harness my adrenaline to be present onstage and deliver a beautiful performance consistently. These are only some of the amazing things I have accomplished throughout my sessions with Kirsten. From our first meeting to the last, I have seen a big change in both my dancing and my mentality!  I loved my experience in The Confident Dancer Coaching Program, and I think so many others would as well!

- Sophie DeGraff, Pre-Professional Ballet Dancer

Working with Kirsten allowed me to gain a new perspective on my emotions and struggles. It is unlike any counseling or coaching I have received before. Kirsten held me accountable and we worked as a team to come up with real actions I could take towards my goals. This program helped me to become a completely new dancer as I now have a more grounded approach to my training.  There will always be struggles and difficult feelings and situations in the dance world but, now I am able to have skills I can use in situations where I feel overwhelmed, this gave me a new kind of confidence, not a proud or obnoxious kind but a steady and peaceful confidence having more distance between my own self doubt, and negativity and my goals. Having someone who understands dancers made a world of difference and allowed me to make changes that impacted not only my mental health as a person but also the way I take class, audition and perform as a dancer.

- Gracie Mientka, Pre-Professional Ballet Dancer

WHAT FORMER CLIENTS ARE SAYING ABOUT OUR PARTNERSHIP

Going into the program, I was focused on my fixing my dance-related struggles such as comparison, perfectionism, and the hustle mentality. What I didn't expect was to not only experience change in those areas, but to feel changed at my core as a human. When Kirsten helped me shift my foundational beliefs and sense of identity to be healthier for me, the dancer-specific challenges seemed to just naturally fall into place.  After working with Kirsten, I would no longer consider myself a perfectionist.  I can do what matters to me most now and rest without feeling like I can never do enough or be enough. I don't even feel tempted to criticize my appearance in the mirror anymore.  The sense of trust I have now feels amazingly freeing! Our work together was efficient and I felt so cared for throughout the process. I always looked forward to our sessions and have been continually recommending this experience to friends ever since!

- Jackie Caldwell, Pre-Professional Dancer

Kirsten is perceptive, knowledgeable, and incredibly kind.  Reaching out for 1 on 1 support was one of the best choices I've ever made for myself and my career.  I wish I had had access to this kind of dancer-oriented support when I was younger because it has made such a difference in how I feel in class, rehearsals, and performances. Each session was catered to my specific needs and goals. Kirsten helped me let go of the fears that were holding me back and gave me the tools I needed to authentically believe in myself and pursue my goals. I now feel empowered to make changes that will help me sustain a joyful and fulfilling career doing the thing I love to do. I'm so thankful for Kirsten and the journey we went on together!

- Karen, Professional Ballet Dancer

Before deciding to try out mindset coaching, I was struggling to believe in myself. It seemed like every time I looked in the mirror, I would only see what was wrong and I would get wrapped up in negative self-talk instead of being able to focus in class. I am so grateful to say that after working with Kirsten,  I now feel so free to believe in myself and have even seen such an improvement in my technique because I am no longer spending my time in class being overly critical of myself.

Having this new level of confidence has allowed me to put myself out there for opportunities more boldly, and this past audition season went better than I've ever experienced before. Before working with Kirsten, I knew that mindset was important, but now I know that getting support in this area is one of the best things you can do for yourself and your future as a dancer!

- Madison D., Pre-Professional Dancer

- Olivia laVie, Artist and Performer in New York City

If you don’t want to make your dreams come true, then run away and live your life the same! If not, stay, because Kirsten can help you get what you never thought possible.  She took me from being scared and scarred in South America to training professionally at an amazing dance academy in New York.

She’s an incredible listener and someone who you know you can trust with anything. If you’re willing to face fears and changes, you’re on the right path to getting the life of your dreams. She doesn’t sugarcoat reality—I don’t either—you’ll get to understand how sacrifices and suffering are a great part of life, as they make success meaningful.

Go ahead and change your life for good, you’ve got the greatest supporter in Kirsten. Trust me, trust her.

Working with Kirsten was a wonderful experience from the first DM to the last meeting! Kirsten listens, understands, and addresses the best explanations for what you are feeling and how to move forward. All the powerful tools that Kirsten shared with me in our sessions will stay with me for years to come, and I've seen an incredible boost in confidence and a positive shift in the way I relate to myself by putting them into practice.

Kirsten helped me to let go of limiting beliefs about my abilities and who I am that have been negatively impacting me mentally, emotionally, and ability to perform for years.  Getting to know and learn about how to correctly address things like worrying about what others think with personalized coaching was so incredibly helpful. I learned so much about myself as a person and artist, and I think this is the most important aspect I can take from the coaching sessions with Kirsten. I didn't want our work together to end!

- Claudia Suarez, Professional Dancer

Before going through The Confident Dancer Coaching Program, I was struggling a lot with my confidence and was constantly doubting myself, my body, and my technique. I was scared of doing the steps that I was weak at, and was at a crossroads with whether I should continue training at a school that was very unhealthy for me. With Kirsten’s support, I now feel more confident, optimistic, and able to celebrate my best efforts instead of focusing on perfection. I feel like I can approach difficult steps with less fear and more excitement.  I doubt myself less, spend less time comparing myself to others, and feel more calm and focused as I dance than ever before.

I loved that every session was a perfect balance of fun and serious, and I felt really comfortable talking with Kirsten about things that are usually uncomfortable for me to talk about. Every session was so mind-opening, and I would highly recommend this support to other dancers!

- Michelle Cordero, Ballet Student

I first stumbled upon Kirsten and many of her brilliant insights and helpful tips via Instagram while I was building up to a set of performances last season. I have been dancing professionally for over a decade, yet I have always struggled with so much self-doubt, anxiety around performances, imposter syndrome, and perfectionist tendencies, and so I found myself referring back to Kirsten's words again and again in my dressing room whenever I was feeling uncertain or needed a mini pep talk. I started to realize that no matter how much I loved dancing and the challenging work required to be a ballet dancer, I absolutely hated how anxious and stressed it made me every day and especially during performances and I did not want those feelings to define the rest of my career, so I DM’d Kirsten and she took me on as a client for one-on-one coaching. It was the best decision I could have made, not only for my career but for myself as a person beyond the pointe shoes and tutus. Kirsten is passionate, insightful, super knowledgeable and an absolute joy to work with.  As a twin and dancer herself (among many other things), she was able to authentically connect with my struggles, motivators, and tendencies in our sessions together, and through that understanding provide thoughtful insight and guidance as well as numerous practical strategies for me to implement on a daily basis. Working with her for the past 4 months has absolutely helped shift my perspective on relentless work, my approach to my goals, and my experience with my mindset, and has enhanced my career for the better both on and off the stage.

After experiencing greater and faster accomplishments in training and skill levels than I had in years, I now feel newly confident in my ability to achieve my dream  and can only imagine that all performing artists would thrive with this kind of support and coaching on their journeys to excellence. Kirsten is super intelligent and intuitive, wise beyond her years, and so sincerely caring and kind. She is a joy to be with and I’m blessed to have this beautiful person in my life!

- Julie S., Performing Artist

Kirsten is incredibly helpful and insightful.  No matter what you're struggling with, she has a way of asking questions and leading you to make discoveries about yourself, as a result giving you the tools to better understand how your brain works, cope with any challenges you may face, and advocate for yourself.

- Pre-professional Ballet Dancer and University Student

After dealing with a knee injury for three months that I felt like I was never going to get through, I spoke with Kirsten for just one hour, and the change I experienced after our discussion was incredible.  I had been battling my own mind and body for such a long time and was frustrated and stressed, yet in a few weeks after Kirsten helped me shift my mindset, I was feeling great and experiencing little to no knee pain- something I had only dreamed of for months! I did not realize how powerful your mindset can be in terms of your physical health. Thanks to Kirsten, I was able to get past this injury and am now preparing to go overseas for a dream summer intensive program that I wouldn’t imagine ever happening a few months ago.

- Harper Banks, Trainee with Oklahoma City Ballet

Each session I gained knowledge and insights about myself and my situation, and I am truly amazed to see how much I have grown in such a short amount of time.  Kirsten is very insightful, a great listener, and empathetic, which allowed our conversations to be very open and productive. This process was really life-giving for me and being able to go through a transition while working with her was so helpful. If you are considering working with Kirsten, I can personally say that this investment was very valuable for my present and future. I highly recommend working with her!

- Professional Ballet Dancer

Before starting mindset coaching, I had little confidence in myself and in my decision on whether I wanted to keep dancing. But with the help of Kirsten, I was able to get past my underlying belief that I was not confident and have become more comfortable with myself in situations that are out of my comfort zone. With this newfound mindset, I am more hopeful for my future and confident that I will continue to progress with it, with help from the information and techniques she shared with me throughout our sessions. Kirsten is so kind-hearted, and you can tell how passionate and dedicated she is to help other dancers/clients change their mindset for the better, which is so encouraging to see and I am very grateful for all her help!

Yes! I dance recreationally, do a different genre other than ballet, or am a retired dancer. Will this program still be a fit for me?

What is the age range for this program?

If I am a dancer but currently injured, will the Confident Dancer Coaching Program be a good fit for me?

What about if I am on the fence about pursuing ballet professionally or even currently on the professional route, but reconsidering if this is the right path for me?

How much does the program cost?

I have worked successfully with clients from all these demographics and welcome you to apply. As long as your personal goals and challenges align with what this program is designed to help with, the specific genre, desire to specifically dance professionally, or phase in your career will not at all stop us from creating successful outcomes.

Short answer: I fully welcome the inclusion of challenges and goals that are not explicitly dance-related!

Long answer: Given that my philosophy is that you are a whole person, not just a dancer, I believe it is very important to address aspects of your life that may be affecting your experience in the studio, even if the aspect of your life that you would like to discuss may not seem dance-related on the surface. I am a trained and certified Professional Life Coach and absolutely welcome discussions on topics outside of dance that, when addressed, can give you the opportunity to fully thrive as a person.

The default approach that I take is to offer coaching from a perspective that is religiously neutral and completely welcoming to those of any worldview.

That being said, if it is important to you to incorporate your faith into the coaching process, I am happy offer coaching from a Christian Biblical perspective upon request. Simply let me know during the consultation if you would like to incorporate your faith into our conversations.

WHO IS THE CONFIDENT DANCER COACHING PROGRAM A GREAT FIT FOR?

Pre-professional, professional, and recreational dancers who want to get support in attaining most or all of the following outcomes from a coach who understands a dancer’s perspective:

  • Resolving the mental challenges that are holding you back from performing your best consistently such as self-doubt, performance anxiety, perfectionism, never feeling good enough, and comparison.

  • Gaining practical evidence-based tools, frameworks, and mental skills that you can use to be present, calm, grounded, and effective as you dance.

  • Support in making decisions about how to handle current challenges you’re facing in your school, company, or thoughts about what direction to take in your training or career.

Yes! If you are currently recovering from an injury and want desperately to get back to dancing your best, you probably don’t need me to tell you how much your mental and emotional wellness play a part in creating a successful recovery. Many of my clients have started working with me during their injury recovery process because they saw it as the perfect time to work on themselves and their mindset in a way that they just didn’t have the time or desire for pre-injury.
